Cyanogenmod Installer Unsupported Device Continue Anyway: Why It Happens and How to Fix It

Now that you've downloaded the suitable driver package for your device, it's time for you to install it. Some OEMs offer standard installer executables, which means you can easily install the whole driver suite by double-clicking on the setup file and following the wizard.

First things first, if you are not the website owner, you need to get in touch with someone who can fix the issue. DO NOT go ahead and continue anyway. It is quite possible that the error is showing because a hacker or phisher is trying to pass an impostor website off as the website you are trying to visit.

Cyanogenmod Installer Unsupported Device Continue Anyway

When Windows 7 reached its end-of-support date in 2020, I calculated that about 200 million PCs were still running that operating system. When Windows 10 hits its end-of-support milestone in 2025, the number of newly unsupported devices is likely to be even larger.

What are the owners of those PCs supposed to do? Microsoft's bean counters would, of course, like them all to throw those old devices into the nearest landfill and replace them with shiny new hardware, but that's not going to happen. Instead, most of those customers are likely to do absolutely nothing and carry on with their unsupported operating system, endangering the entire PC ecosystem in the process.

ESXi requires local persistent storage for operating system use, to store system state, configuration, logs, and live data. A system with only a SD-Card/USB boot device is operating in an unsupported state with the potential for premature corruption.

While I completely support and understand why VMware is doing this, and I would never recommend anyone running their production vSphere environments on hosts booting from SD-Card/USB boot devices, this might be an issue for homelab setups, especially those running vSAN. While small form factor nodes, like the Intel NUC, is inherently unsupported from VMware anyway, the new requirement of having a location to place the ESXi OS Data might be a problem. Many small form factor setups only allow two internal devices, typically one M.2 and one SATA3 device, and since vSAN requires a minimum of one cache drive and one capacity drive per disk group, this might be a problem for many small setups. 2ff7e9595c
